Soul Talks are heart-felt conversations on topics we care about with people we respect, value and feel connection with! They can be conversations where we learn something, express deeply held beliefs or just explore thoughts and exchange perspectives. When we connect in a meaningful way it always nurtures the soul! I will be posting such conversations here on a regular basis and encourage you to comment or add your perspective! We all have a voice and when we share honestly we recognize the connections to our humanity!
Perfectionism - Being Beautifully Imperfect!
We live in a world where being perfect or fitting a perconceived mold is ingrained in us from a very early age and most of us fall into the trap of trying to reach that preconceived and unreal ideal. For many, it becomes an obsession that really takes us away from who we are, as uniquely imperfect and fabulous individuals and sets us squarely on a journey to a destination we can never attain. When we become obsessed with perfection it affects our self-worth on a deep level and distracts us from our brilliance. Perfectionism is different from the pursuit of excellence or self-improvement which can be a healthy desire to constantly learn and grow. That pursuit stems from deep self-love and nurturing and not from fear or the "I'm not enough" feelings behind perfectionism. How do we get off the perfectionism roller-coaster and shine our true light from within? I recently interviewed Michelle Wong, Leadership Coach and founder of The Non-Linear Path on "Embrace Change with Kate" about Self-Care (Dec. 17, 2018 - "Self-Care is Key to Vibrant Health!") and the subject of Perfectionism came up. Michelle & I thought it deserved some atttention, so we decided to have a conversation about it. Listen to our conversation below and decide what you think. Do suffer from Perfectionism? Is it time to let go of perfectionism and be beautifully imperfect? Find Michelle Wong at www.thenonlinearpath.com or on Instagram @michellewong.xo. Listen to Embrace change with Kate every Monday, 11:00 AM PDT.

Respect is something we should gain and earned. This one goes to other people as well. In order for us to be respected, we should respect others too. We look up into person who we respect. Feeling a connection with a person is such a blessed situation. In this generation, you will only see few people who can be connected to you, soulfully. I have never thought that imperfection will lead me to a “not-so-perfect” reality. I am happy in where I am now and I hope other people would feel the same too.
